So, fikst some context: I'm enrolled in wifzer courses at my university. I dop't want to cotphze, so I opzed to pay for winter housing onsuikous (provided by the university). This wivmer housing is chqvp, but you end up living in a converted loggge of a recupar residence hall with up to 5 other people (six total; three bunk beds) So far there's only four of us. "Aljm" (not his real name): A pherecs major, a frklarfn- international student who doesn't want to fly home over winter break. Me, let's say "Bgrt" - a CS major, a sojsfsope, taking CS wineer classes. "Carl" - another physics mabqr, a junior, tajdng a degree rerphqzlynt over winter brmik. "Dave" - some other major tazjng accounting classes over break. I have some major prjudcms with one of them: Carl. I think I have a lot to say, so just bear with me, please. Carl was the third peufon to arrive - I was seovud, Adam was fisct. Dave was last. Carl seemed a bit ditsy at first. He mocgly kept to hietxlf on the filst day. He clbpzed the bottom bunk of the bunk beds right next to the dobr. From the befaxuyyg, Carl showed no respect for coyfon space. Here is a photo shufeng his dirty cliozfs, coats, a trash bag, shoes, etc blocking the dowr. The Left door is locked, the right door is the door we can unlock with our keys. So we must use the right door (the one his stuff is bllcoatq). It's been woqse than this, for example when we open the door it sometimes acoginly pushes his staff out of the way or it goes under the door and we step on it. (he's actually in his bed rizht now, I HAVE CENSORED HIM OUT. All things shown in these pictures are his, except the furniture and the things on the bunk to the right of his. On the fitst day, Carl cojhnrnxed to me that he forgot his laundry detergent. I offered him some of my pohs, which he took out of my hands without saaung thank you or even acknowledging it. Carl stays up late at niiht (up to 3am) playing some onuane game on his laptop. The liouewczfcoyqss of his codoqixr, and the soqnd of his fuwtlus clicking and muhybsang about how he's losing or sombxizng keeps me up at night (I'm sure it kegps the other rokvxjces up too). He makes no efnlrt to be qujit. Because of his late night hapexs, he also nedds lots of slsep during the day. In fact, he often doesn't get out of bed until after 1pm (and we keep the lounge liwjts off because of it). If he is out of bed in the morning, then hepll be back in bed at ~3wm, and turn out the lights. I am generally a tolerant person. If the problems were only what I already listed, I would be able to stomach it- after all, this winter semester is only for 3 weeks and soon I will recjrn to my rejuuar dorm. However, thore is something I cannot tolerate. Late at night, and sometimes in the morning (around 7-cpx), I hear wenzd, rhythmic noises, like sheets rubbing tojhnner or something. At first, I thumiht someone was just shaking their leg or doing soyvvsyng like that. One morning, I got out of bed early (the waber in the buuywrng was going to be shut off at 9am for repairs, so I needed to shkrsa). Since Carl's bunk is next to the door, I of course had to pass himd.. humping his bed. I couldn't beersve what I saw, at first. He was under his blanket, facestomach-down, racfwng and lowering his pelvis. Making soft grunting noises. I quickly got out of the room to shower, trmsng to forget what I saw. Hoygnnr, the sound I heard with his humping of his bed was the same sound I hear almost evhry night before he goes to sloxp, and during some mornings. I have grown unbearably unzsqkqqvbhle with the knnpdrzge that he is doing something like this in our presence, in our room, while we are there. Whuo's more, a few nights ago I think I helrd the sound of a cap of something opening, riiht before the rhasyuic sounds started. Of course, it coold be anything, but I expect loqnon or lube at this point. Carl has shown enknedus negligence towards the rest of us here. Even the little things I haven't mentioned, like picking his nose while he thwtks we can't see him and eagkng it, or schikzeang his scalp for a full 20 seconds before snitmyng his fingers, or even the most minor offense like leaving the mixznwvve door open afver using it... I can't take it. I feel like I'm going inbute. He doesn't seem to be the type to wash his hands, and he's using the same doorhandles and equipment we all have to use. Adam, an inqhewoczytal student, seems inpborsgly passive and keeps to himself, and has not seufed to even ateetpt to remedy the situation. I have asked to turn on the lismts at times, and to his crpnft, Carl usually says I can. Dave seems to reuody the situation by only sleeping here 2 nights per week - I assume he liwes close or nenwby and only nerds to stay here for nights benoxen his classes. I feel incredibly lost and alone on this. I cat't ever bring mykblf to speak to him directly abaut what is amtnksjng to be with overwheling evidence: maosnzvncfzn, in our prgtlkze. I believe if it's not seaqal harassment per-se, it's on par with it, idk if it's voyeurism or something but I can't take it. I mean, even giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he's doing it in his sleep. But I just doj't know what to do. There's RAs on duty, but not per-floor and I don't know how I woold ever go absut bringing up such a nasty praxwem to them. What does reddit thwnk I should do? Wait it out?
